Look I Can Talk! 1.1 Slides and Activities

I have designed this lesson based on Look, I Can Talk chapter 1. I was so inspired by Von Ray’s presentation of this story in German because I learned SO much in just a couple hours! I hope to someday be as engaging of a TPRSer as he is.

I teach 90-minute lessons to 7th and 8th graders.
Day 1: Practice some procedures, TPR and PQA using pictures and students’ interests.

Day 2: Storyask – Main storyline: There is a girl who is not happy because she is in jail. She is in jail because she does not have an elephant. End with Karen Rowan’s Self-Eval.

Day 3: Listen and Draw, then Ping-Pong Reading and Choral Reading.

Day 4: Students finish their reading questions. They create their writing portfolios, do a 5-minute write, and have Kindergarten Day!

I will post finished writing portfolios and sample writings to see the progress they make in 4 days of class. Happy New School-Year! It’s going to be the best one yet!
